Frequently Asked Questions
Got Questions? I've Got Answers! Here’s what you need to know.
Where are you based?
I work from home – usually somewhere between the kettle and a pile of tax returns. No glossy offices, just honest work, flexibility, and probably a dog or two at my feet.
Do you work evenings or weekends?
Sometimes, yes. I work flexibly depending on the workload. Being a mum and a business owner means I don’t always follow the 9–5 – so if you get an email from me at a strange hour, don’t be surprised.
How quickly will you respond to emails?
I aim to reply within 48 hours. If it’s urgent, let me know – I’ll do my best to prioritise it.
Can I call you?
Of course. I just prefer to book calls in advance so I can give you my full attention (and not be mid-nappy change or boiling pasta).
Do you offer fixed fees?
No copy-paste pricing here. Every business is different, so I’ll give you a tailored quote based on your needs. Clear, fair, and no nasty surprises.
What industries do you work with?
For me, it’s not really about the industry – it’s about your outlook and whether we click. I mainly work with service-based businesses, and I’ve got lots of experience in construction, media, sport, and beauty (to name a few). I’m probably not your best bet if you’re in complex manufacturing, but I’ll always be honest if I’m not the right fit. If we speak the same language – and by that, I mean no jargon, just real talk – we’ll work well together.
I’ve fallen behind with my accounts – can you still help?
Yes. You’re not the first, and you definitely won’t be the last. Whether it’s a few months or a few years, I’ll help you get back on track without the lecture.
What software do you use?
Mostly Xero (which I love for its simplicity and live info), but I’m fluent in others too. If you’re not sure what to use, I’ll help you choose what works best for your business – and get it set up properly.
Do you only work with local clients?
Not at all. I work with clients across the UK – as long as you’ve got Wi-Fi and a goal, we can make it work.
Can I meet you in person?
If you’re nearby and it fits both our schedules – yes, happy to. Otherwise, Zoom is our best friend.
Do you do everything yourself?
Mostly, yes. I have a bit of support behind the scenes, but I’m very hands-on and like to stay close to everything that’s going on. I also partner with other trusted professionals to offer support with finance directorship, grants admin, mortgages, SEIS/EIS investments, and business lending – so you get access to a wider network without losing the personal touch.
Will you remind me of deadlines?
Absolutely. Think of me as your calm-but-firm financial sidekick. I’ll nudge you when needed so nothing slips through the cracks.
Are you qualified?
Yes – I’m CIMA-qualified with over 15 years of experience, and I’m currently working towards becoming a Chartered Tax Adviser. Not because I have to, but because I genuinely love what I do (and apparently I don’t know when to stop). You’re in safe, experienced hands.
What’s the best way to get started?
Drop me a message. Tell me a bit about your business and what you need help with – and we’ll take it from there. No pressure, no jargon, just a friendly chat.
What if I’m just starting out and not sure what I need?
Even better! I love helping businesses get it right from day one. I’ll guide you through the basics – from registrations to bookkeeping – and make sure you’re set up properly from the start.
Do you offer ongoing support or just one-off services?
Both! If you just need help with your tax return, that’s fine. But if you’re after ongoing support throughout the year – we can create a package that suits you.
